John Keating (Junior) is making history as the only person to be elected to a third term as Fire Chief in the City of Garfield. John has been a firefighter for over 20 years and has achieved the ranks of Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, & Engineer. He is also a past President of the Garfield Exempt Firemen's Association and a past President & Vice President of the South Bergen Fire Chiefs Association Zone 3. John is slated to become the Department Chief in 2012.
